MOTHERS UNION OF KUMASI HOLDS POST LAMBETH EXPERIENCE
The Mothers Union of the Diocese of Kumasi held a post Lambeth experience with a call on them to strengthen their faith in the Lord as Christian Mothers..
The colorful program held at the Parish Hall of St. Cyprains Anglican Cathedral was on the theme “The role of the Mother’s Union in the Anglican Communion “.
It saw the distinguished presence of Mother Superior Christina Ben – Smith (spouse of the primate of the church of the Province of west Africa,the Internal province of Ghana and Bishop of Asante Mampong) and Mother Janet Amoah(spouse of Bishop of Kumasi)
Sharing her experience,Mother Ben – Smith led the MU members through series of activities to strengthen their faith as Christian mothers in performing their roles to the glory of God.
She prodded the mothers to emulate the life of Mary Sumner (founder of mothers union worldwide),who dedicated her earthly service to God and Mankind..
Mother Smith added that the Mothers were to remain humble in ministering their Christian Mothering roles as well as standing firm in the Lord irrespective of the challenges they may face in their Mother-ship to Mankind…
She commended the Most. Rev’d Justin Welby and the entire planning team for unabatedly hosting over two thousand Participants at the conference and imparting them with resources vital to the growth of the Anglican Communion..
Mother Veronica Obemah,Diocesan Co-ordinator in an interview with Anglican News Ghana disclosed that the Mothers Union of Kumasi was committed to promoting conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children,
helping those whose family life has met with adversity, promoting and supporting marriage lives and nurturing young women to live for the glory of God…
The 15th Lambeth Conference met from 26 July – 8 August 2022
Convened by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Lambeth Conference is an international meeting of Anglican bishops and their spouses.The conference discusses church and world affairs and the global mission of the Anglican Communion.
This event plays an influential role in the life of the Anglican Church and takes place usually every 10 years.Its purpose is to gather together bishops and spouses for prayer, bible study, worship and fellowship and helps shape the life of the Anglican Communion for the coming decade.
